Vitamin B12(cobalamin) deficiency can cause sever and irreversible damage to the nervous system which includes subacute combined degeneration of spinal cord. Most of the time it shows to symptoms but it can also present anemia (megaloblastic anemia) characterized by enlarged corpuscles.This body disorder can be cause by inadequate food intake of vitamin B12 rich food naturally present in animals product like egg, meat, milk and some strain of yeast. Some are due to impaired absorption, presence of parasites, and some drug interfere with vit. b12 absorption.
