In a press release made by the assistant professor of medicine at the university of Minnesota Shalamar Sibley, MD, MPH, She stated that Vitamin D deficiency is indeed associated with obesity but it is still unclear if Vitamin D deficiency causes obesity or the other way around. This statement were based on the conducted 11 weeks trial on obese patient that had undergone calorie-restricted weight loss program.
